Gastouderland is a certified registered childminder agency (gastouderbureau) with national coverage and 23 locations throughout the Netherlands. We offer parents professional mediation for childminder care (gastouderopvang) in a homely atmosphere. Our regional consultants actively search for a suitable childminder (gastouder) who matches your needs and ensure a personal match. All childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK), which entitles parents to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We work with a unique early childhood education programme called Aap! for preschool education and offer support through our pedagogical and financial helpdesk. For parents
At Gastouderland, you'll find small-scale childminder care (gastouderopvang) in a homely atmosphere. Your child is cared for by a registered childminder (gastouder) with whom you build a personal bond. Our regional consultant guides you in finding the right match and is always there for you. You only pay for the actual hours of care and are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We offer flexible childcare options, also for parents with irregular working hours.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) because all childminders (gastouders) at Gastouderland are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). For each child, you can receive a maximum of 230 hours of childcare benefit per month. The amount of the benefit depends on your income, family composition and childcare details. Gastouderland offers support with the application and provides the necessary invoices and annual statements as proof for the Tax and Customs Administration.
Gastouderland charges no enrolment fees and searches for a childminder (gastouder) for you free of charge. You only pay agency fees once a match has been found. The hourly rate for childminders in their own home averages between €5.50 and €8.00 per hour. For childminders at your home (nannies), costs range between €13.00 and €20.00 per hour, depending on experience and number of children. In addition to the hourly rate, you pay agency fees to Gastouderland, for which we always make the most favourable possible calculation that is included in the childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).
Trust & screening
All childminders (gastouders) at Gastouderland undergo thorough screening. They must have a government-approved diploma, a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate, and a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). Household members from 18 years old and regular visitors must also have a VOG. After screening by our consultant and approval by the GGD, the childminder is registered by the local municipality in the National Childcare Register (LRK). The care location is checked for safety and hygiene.
Gastouderland complies with the Childcare Act and is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). All childminders (gastouders) and household members over 18 have a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and are registered in the Childcare Persons Register. The care location is checked annually for safety and hygiene. We have an internal and external complaints procedure and are members of the Disputes Committee.
