Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) because Gastouderland works with registered childminders who are enrolled in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK). For each child, you can receive childcare benefit for a maximum of 230 hours per month. The amount of the benefit depends on your income, family composition and childcare details.

We offer support with the application for childcare benefit and provide the required invoices and annual statements as proof for the Tax Authorities. Gastouderland charges no registration fees and searches for a suitable childminder free of charge. You only pay agency fees once a match is found, and we always strive for the most favourable calculation possible, which can be included in the childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).

The hourly rate for childminders who provide care in their own home averages between €5.50 and €8.00 per hour. For in-home childminders (nannies), rates range between €13.00 and €20.00 per hour, depending on experience and number of children. Childminders set their own hourly rate in consultation with the consultant. Payments to childminders are processed within two working days after receipt of the invoice.

Gastouderland applies strict selection criteria for childminders. All potential childminders must hold a government-approved diploma, a valid Child First Aid diploma, and a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG) for themselves, any adult housemates and structural visitors.

Our consultant visits the childcare location to assess safety and hygiene. Subsequently, the GGD checks whether all legal requirements are met. Only after approval by both Gastouderland and the GGD is the childminder registered by the local municipality in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK). After registration, continuous screening begins via the Childcare Persons Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang).

Gastouderland complies with all requirements of the Childcare Act (Wet Kinderopvang) and is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). All our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK) and hold the required diplomas, Child First Aid certificate and Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG). Adult housemates from 18 years and structural visitors must also have a VOG.

We carry out annual risk assessments for safety and health at the childcare locations and visit childminders at least twice a year. Our consultants check whether the home meets all safety and hygiene requirements. Gastouderland is a member of the Disputes Committee and has both an internal and external complaints procedure.
