For parents
At W-care, parents find flexible childminder care (gastouderopvang) in a homely atmosphere, with a maximum of 6 children per childminder. Care is available for children from 0 to 12 years old and can take place either at the childminder's home or at your own home (nanny care). You only pay for the reserved days and times, with no minimum hour requirement. Our digital administration makes invoices and annual statements easy to view. We offer a large selection of qualified childminders throughout Friesland and the north of the Netherlands.
Subsidy & costs
W-care uses rates that conform to the maximum hourly rates for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) set by the government. The maximum hourly rate for childminder care (gastouderopvang) for 2026 is €8.49. Depending on your income, you receive childcare benefit based on this rate. We offer an online trial calculation tool on our website to estimate your benefit. Our rates are structured so that the childminder receives fair compensation and parents do not overpay.
W-care uses transparent rates with no hidden costs. For childminder care (gastouderopvang), you pay €1.10 per care hour as agency costs when we make the match, whereby the childminder receives €7.39 per hour. For a self-found childminder, the agency contribution is €1.00 per hour. The total rate always remains €8.49 per child per hour when using our advisory rates. We charge no mediation or registration fees.
For families with few care hours, we apply a minimum agency fee of €37.50 per month. For frequent care, we offer fixed monthly rates: €70 per month for one child or €100 per month for two or more children, regardless of the number of hours. For nanny care, we work with custom quotes.
Trust & screening
All childminders in our database are thoroughly screened before being proposed to parents. We visit every childminder at home for a personal intake and assessment of the care location. During this intake interview, we assess suitability for childminder care (gastouderopvang) through W-care. Only childminders who meet our quality requirements and are assessed as suitable are included in our database and proposed to parents.
W-care works in accordance with the statutory guidelines for childminder care (gastouderopvang) and is registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK number: 170319738). Our agency holds the KNGO Quality Mark, which stands for quality and reliability. All childminders are visited at home by us and assessed as suitable based on intake interviews.
