Subsidy & costs
Childminder (gastouder) care through ViaViela is formal childcare, which means parents are eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax Authority. This benefit is a contribution towards childcare costs. The exact amount depends on your childcare and income details. ViaViela offers a free calculation tool to work out your net costs, and your contact person can provide a customised calculation. On average, net costs after benefit are approximately €0.50 per child per hour or higher, depending on your personal situation.
Childminder (gastouder) care through ViaViela consists of two cost components: the childminder's hourly rate (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and ViaViela's bureau fee for mediation and guidance (an all-in monthly fee with no registration costs). The bureau fee depends on the number of childcare hours, number of children and region. Childminder care is on average 20% cheaper than other forms of childcare. ViaViela offers a free calculation tool to work out your net costs after childcare benefit.
Trust & screening
Before you meet your childminder (gastouder), we have already found and assessed her. Our childminders hold all required diplomas (MBO-2 Helpende Zorg en Welzijn or an exempted diploma). We ensure that the childcare location is safe and healthy by visiting our childminders regularly and checking whether the location meets all safety and hygiene requirements. In addition, we provide ongoing education for childminders and support them pedagogically.
ViaViela and all our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and comply with all statutory quality requirements. Every ViaViela location and every childminder we mediate has an active LRK registration. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspects our offices annually and childminder locations every two years. Our childminders hold all required diplomas, and we regularly check whether the childcare locations are safe and healthy. We have an internal complaints procedure in accordance with the Childcare Act and an active parent committee.
