Gastouderbureau Thuis van Huis

Because we only work with registered childminders (gastouders), parents are eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). This means a large portion of costs is reimbursed by the Tax Authority. Parents can apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) with the Tax Authority via Mijn Toeslagen, preferably within 3 months of the first childcare day. The benefit can reimburse up to 96% of costs, depending on income. The maximum number of hours for which benefit can be received is 230 hours per child per calendar month. We advise parents to do a trial calculation on the Tax Authority website.

The costs for childminder care (gastouderopvang) consist of two parts: the childminder's (gastouder) hourly rate (average €7.50 - €8.50 per hour per child) and Thuis van Huis's agency costs (fixed rate of €0.70 per hour per child, with a minimum of €42.00 and maximum of €105.00 per month per family). There are no registration or placement fees. For multiple childminders (gastouders) for one family, we charge no extra agency costs. Replacement during illness or holiday is arranged without extra costs. Thanks to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), the net hourly rate can be from approximately €0.34 per hour.

Our screening process is thorough and comprises multiple steps. Before starting cooperation, we conduct an extensive intake interview where we discuss the pedagogical vision and climate. We check the childcare space including sleeping areas through a risk inventory. Childminders (gastouders) must hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), an appropriate diploma, and a first aid certificate. The municipality ultimately gives permission to start. Both Thuis van Huis and the GGD (Municipal Health Service) conduct annual inspections and carry out the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RIE).

Thuis van Huis works exclusively with registered childminders (gastouders) who meet all legal requirements. Every childminder (gastouder) is carefully screened by us and the GGD (Municipal Health Service), registered with the municipality, and included in the National Childcare Register (LRK). We carry out the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RIE) annually and the GGD can conduct inspections at any time. Childminders (gastouders) hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), appropriate diploma, and first aid certificate. We ourselves are registered in the LRK under number 149051232.
