Gastouderbureau Stappertje mediates between parents looking for childcare and childminders (gastouders) who want to provide high-quality childcare. Childminder care (gastouderopvang) offers flexibility in care hours, personal attention for your child in a homely environment, and is often cheaper than regular childcare. You can arrange care hours yourself, also at irregular times such as weekends, evenings or nights. The care can take place at the childminder's home or in your own home.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) when both the childminder bureau and the childminder are included in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK). For 2025, the government reimburses up to a maximum of €8.10 per hour per child for childminder care (gastouderopvang). The monthly bureau costs may be included in this. Parents can check in advance whether their childminder is listed in the LRK via www.landelijkregisterkinderopvang.nl and apply for the benefit from the Tax and Customs Administration.
Parents pay monthly bureau costs to GOB Stappertje: €48.00 per month for care of one child, €37.50 per month for a second child, and no bureau costs for a third child with the same childminder. These costs are eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). In addition, you pay an hourly rate to the childminder, which is determined by the childminder themselves (usually between €5.25 and €6.00 per hour per child). Payment is made via automatic direct debit by Stappertje, which collects both bureau costs and childminder costs and pays out the childminder.
Trust & screening
All childminders at Stappertje are carefully screened. They must meet legal requirements such as a minimum age of 21, a Certificate of Good Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag/VOG), a relevant MBO-2 diploma or EVC certificate 'Good Childminding', and a registered First Aid for Children certificate. In addition, Stappertje carries out a risk assessment for safety and health in the home where the care takes place, and checks whether there is sufficient care space, smoke detectors and safe play space.
