Subsidy & costs
When using a childminder through Gastouderbureau Snoesje, you are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax Authority. We support you with the application and offer an online calculation module to determine how much benefit you can receive. The benefit covers on average 60-80% of costs, depending on your assessed income. Parents with higher incomes also receive benefit. Conditions for benefit include that you and your partner work, are studying or are on a pathway to work.
Childminder care at Snoesje is often the most affordable form of childcare. The recommended rate for childminders in 2026 is €7.20 to €7.90 per child per hour. The agency costs are €1.30 per child per hour (2026), with a minimum of €35 and maximum of €125 per family per month. There is a one-time registration fee of €35. We do not work with half-days or fixed drop-off and pick-up times — you only book the hours you need, with a minimum of 5 hours per day for daytime care.
Trust & screening
We devote considerable time and attention to screening new childminders. We never present a childminder whom we have not met in person. For new childminders, we conduct home visits to check the home for safety and hygiene. Additionally, we assess whether the childminder has sufficient knowledge and skills. We verify qualifications such as diplomas, first aid certificates and Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG). Although demand for childminders is high, we sometimes consciously choose not to work with a childminder if they do not align with our approach and quality standards.
Gastouderbureau Snoesje is a registered childminder agency with 20+ years of experience and complies with all requirements of the Childcare Act. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) carries out annual inspections and our inspection reports are publicly available.
