Subsidy & costs
Parents can apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) via toeslagen.nl within 3 months of the month in which their child first attends childcare. Ridder Roeland helps parents apply for childcare benefit at the office and provides annual statements for the tax authorities. Both the childminder agency (gastouderbureau) and all childminders (gastouders) are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK), which is a condition for receiving benefit. The amount of benefit depends on household income. We ensure monthly submission of childcare data to the Tax and Customs Administration.
The costs for childcare with a childminder (gastouder) consist of two parts: the childminder's hourly rate (typically €7.70 - €8.10 per child per hour) and Ridder Roeland's agency fees (€1.20 per hour with a minimum of €27.50 and maximum of €79 per month for the first child). For multiple children within one family, you pay a maximum of €125 per month in agency fees. Registration costs are a one-time fee of €45 per family (€25 when switching or bringing your own childminder). Different rates apply for evening, night and weekend care. Direct debit is mandatory and invoices are sent digitally.
Trust & screening
Ridder Roeland carries out thorough screening of all childminders (gastouders). This includes a risk inventory for safety and hygiene in the home, inspection by the Public Health Service (GGD), and document checks for all required paperwork for registration in the LRK. We manage the Childcare Personnel Register with continuous screening: we request Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG) for childminders, household members and regular visitors. Childminders are guided in obtaining required diplomas and must meet all requirements of the Childcare Act before they may provide childcare.
