Kroostopvang offers tailor-made childminding (gastouderopvang) for children from 0 to 13 years. This small-scale form of childcare is flexible with regard to start and end times and care days. A childminder (gastouder) looks after a maximum of 6 children in her own home, creating a homely and personal atmosphere. We propose a childminder who matches your parenting wishes, with you making the final choice. The government contributes to the costs via childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), which can amount to approximately 90% of the costs.

Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the government, which can amount to approximately 90% of the costs depending on family income. Kroostopvang is a subsidy intermediary (intermediair toeslagen) and offers assistance with applying for and changing the childcare benefit via the Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst). For children aged 4-13, there is a maximum of 230 hours of childcare benefit per month. We recommend requesting a personal quote to calculate the net costs.
The rate for childminding (gastouderopvang) consists of a childminder allowance per hour and agency costs. The recommended rate is €8.34 per hour per child, but this may vary as not every childminder uses the same rate. The agency costs are part of the hourly rate and are also eligible for subsidy. Invoicing takes place monthly by direct debit between the 23rd and 26th of the month. National holidays are paid through to the childminder.
Trust & screening
Our childminders are carefully selected and personally assessed by our childminder coordinators (gastouderbegeleiders). They must meet various requirements including a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag), first aid certificate for children, and relevant training or experience. During the selection process, we visit the childminder at home to assess the home and surroundings. After placement, childminders receive intensive guidance, further training through workshops and training sessions, and coaching from our childminder coordinators.
Kroostopvang is a recognised registered childminding agency (gastouderbureau) that complies with the Childcare Act (Wet kinderopvang). We carry out annual risk assessments to evaluate the home and surroundings for safety and hygiene. The municipal health service (GGD) inspector carries out regular inspections, the reports of which are available online. We are affiliated with the industry association Kinderopvang and work with a parent committee. Our childminders have a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag) and a first aid certificate for children.
