Gastouderbureau KOOS offers small-scale, flexible, and professional childminder (gastouder) care in the Salland and Apeldoorn region. As a placement agency, we connect parents with carefully screened childminders who provide care in a home environment with a maximum of six children. Our placement coordinators personally guide parents through the entire process: from finding a suitable childminder to arranging all administrative matters, including support with applying for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).
We ensure that all affiliated childminders meet the legal requirements of the Childcare Act and are registered in the National Childcare Register. Childminders are inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and work in accordance with KOOS's pedagogical policy. At KOOS, we help parents get started with applying for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We make a personal calculation to provide insight into the amount of the benefit, which depends on the number of care hours and your income. For childminder care, the maximum reimbursement in 2026 is €8.49 per hour. Our system distributes the agency costs as advantageously as possible across the children, resulting in a favorable average hourly rate for which benefit is received. We ensure transparent rates and all necessary administration for a smooth benefit application.
Childminders (gastouders) set their own hourly rate, with KOOS playing an advisory role. The recommended rate for 2026 is €7.30 per hour per child. In addition, there are placement costs: a fixed amount of €15.20 per child per month plus a variable amount of €1.05. The minimum is €15.20 and the maximum is €66.85 per child (maximum €154.90 per family). Our system optimizes the distribution of these costs. For 2 days of care per week (70 hours), the placement costs are approximately €0.95 per hour, which with the childminder rate results in an average hourly price of €8.25. There are also recommended rates for meal allowances (bread €1.80, hot meal €2.95) and kilometer allowance (€0.23/km).
Trust & screening
Our screening process for childminders (gastouders) is thorough and ongoing. New childminders must meet all legal requirements, including the proper qualification and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). They are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). Annually, we check whether childminders still meet all requirements, carry out risk assessments for safety and hygiene, and evaluate the care together with parents. Childminders work according to KOOS's pedagogical policy and receive pedagogical guidance and training for quality assurance.
Gastouderbureau KOOS operates fully in accordance with the Childcare Act. All childminders (gastouders) are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and are regularly inspected by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). We carry out annual risk assessments for safety and hygiene, and verify that childminders still meet the required qualifications and Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Childminders work in accordance with KOOS's pedagogical policy and follow training for continuous development. Parents can always view inspection reports of childminders via the National Childcare Register.
