Childminder care (gastouderopvang) is a recognized form of childcare, which means you are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). This benefit is an income-dependent scheme: the less you earn, the more benefit you receive. You can receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) for a maximum of 230 hours per month per child. The costs for childminder care (gastouderopvang) consist of the childminder's (gastouder's) rate plus placement fees to the bureau. We advise childminders (gastouders) on a market-conforming recommended rate each year, but childminders (gastouders) ultimately determine their own hourly rate themselves. We offer a discount structure for parents who take more than 10 hours of care per week: the more hours, the lower the hourly rate. 80% of our parents make use of this discount. To guarantee quality and safety, we have a careful selection procedure for new childminders (gastouders). Not everyone can simply start working as a childminder (gastouder) with us. Our childminders (gastouders) must meet strict requirements in terms of education, skills and insurance. They receive regular pedagogical support and are continuously guided by our experienced placement staff. In addition, all childminders (gastouders) are checked by the GGD and must be able to present a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, VOG).

Gastouderbureau Gemoederlijk is inspected annually by the GGD (Municipal Health Service) and all inspection reports are publicly available on our website. Our childminders (gastouders) also receive regular checks from the GGD, sometimes unannounced. We are affiliated with the Disputes Committee for Childcare and Toddler Playgroups (Geschillencommissie Kinderopvang en Peuterspeelzalen) and have a complaints procedure. Parents can participate in our parent committee to contribute ideas about quality, pedagogical policy, safety and prices.
