Through the Childcare Act, you are eligible for a substantial government refund. Calimero can calculate what you will receive back based on your (joint) assessment income. The agency offers entirely non-committal calculation examples according to your preferences. You are advised to also obtain information yourself from the Tax and Customs Administration about tax refunds for childcare.

Calimero uses net advisory rates for 2026 based on a minimum of 7 hours per week. The amount payable depends on your (joint) assessment income, with different rates for incomes of €30,000, €40,000, €50,000, and €60,000 per year. There are no registration costs this year. For flexible childcare outside regular hours (daytime, evening, weekend, night), different rates apply which can be requested. All rates are exempt from VAT.

All childminders are assessed against strict criteria upon registration: the environment must be child-friendly, safe, and hygienic with sufficient play opportunities. Childminders must meet legal requirements such as a valid paediatric first aid certificate, Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), registration in the persons register, and a recognized diploma. Additionally, Calimero expects experience with children, good communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to pursue further training. The location is inspected annually.

Calimero is a registered and recognized childminder agency (gastouderbureau) in the National Childcare Register (LRK number: 926759462) with an approved Public Health Service (GGD) advisory. The agency has an internal complaints procedure in accordance with the Childcare Act and an active parent committee for parental input. Recent GGD inspections have been very positive and the agency has been complaint-free in 2024. For all children in care, Calimero arranges additional accident insurance.
