Gastouderbureau Arnhem is a recognised childcare organisation, which means childminder care through the agency qualifies for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax and Customs Administration. Parents can do a trial calculation on the Tax and Customs Administration website to see if they are entitled to benefit. The agency can answer questions about childcare benefit and refers parents to the tax information line for specific queries. The mediation and guidance costs are also eligible for benefit.

The costs for childminder care consist of two parts: the hourly fee paid to the childminder and the mediation fees paid to the agency. Childminders set their own hourly rates as freelancers, but Gastouderbureau Arnhem provides recommended rates. For 2026, the recommended rates for daytime care are €7.90 per hour on weekdays and €9.25 at weekends and in the evenings. Mediation costs are €62 per month per child for daytime care or €1.75 per hour per child. There is a minimum purchase of 20 hours per month for daytime care and 12 hours for after-school care (BSO). Meals are charged separately according to Nibud rates.

Gastouderbureau Arnhem applies strict selection criteria for childminders. All childminders must hold a relevant diploma (at least mbo-2 in Care and Welfare Assistance), a registered first aid certificate for children, a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) for themselves and household members aged 18+, and registration in the National Childcare Register. In addition, childminders must endorse the pedagogical policy plan, have experience in child-rearing, and be able to provide a safe and hygienic childcare environment. The agency conducts regular home visits and risk assessments.

Inspection reports from the GGD are publicly available via the National Childcare Register.
