About this care
BSO de Plantage is part of the De Plantage child centre, located at Kuyckshof 2 in Meteren. In this familiar setting, children aged 4 to 12 can play with school friends after school and discover their talents. We work closely with the primary school in the same building, ensuring a seamless connection between education and after-school care.
Our location features a large outdoor area where children can cycle, romp and explore to their heart’s content. When the weather is less favourable, the spacious gym and kitchen offer plenty of opportunities for sports, games and creative activities. Each holiday has its own theme with challenging creative and sports activities, turning every break into a celebration together with the children.
We operate two horizontal groups for children aged 4 to 12. After school, our pedagogical staff pick up the youngest children; older children may come to the BSO on their own. After a calm start with fruit and a chat, children choose whether to join an activity or play freely. We end the day with a healthy snack and more playtime until parents arrive.
BSO de Plantage is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until 6 p.m. during school weeks. Before-school care (VSO) is available on request. During school holidays we are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.Read more

Strengths
- The pedagogical policy is well implemented and discussed in team meetings
- Staff members are familiar with the pedagogical policy and work according to its principles
- The safety and health policy is complete and adhered to

- Staff-to-child ratios are correctly applied
- The domestic violence and child abuse reporting protocol meets the requirements
- Parents are adequately informed through the website, parent app, and personal contact
- The complaints procedure and disputes committee are well arranged

Summary
BSO de Plantage in Meteren, part of RivaKids, was inspected by GGD Gelderland-Zuid on 1 December 2025. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates 66 children aged 4-12 and is located in Kindcentrum De Plantage, which also houses a primary school and toddler care (peuteropvang). The location meets all examined quality requirements. No violations were identified. However, one point of attention was noted: the division into base groups was insufficiently transparent during the inspection due to an ongoing reorganization. The location manager explained this and indicated that it has since been resolved. This point will be followed up in the 2026 annual review.
