About this care
Eigen&Wijzer Daycare and Preschool IKC Tuindorp is located at Kometensingel 52 in Amsterdam-Noord, surrounded by greenery and integrated within the IKC Tuindorp child-centre. We provide professional daycare for children aged 0 to 4 in a cosy, safely arranged annexe next to the school. Our pedagogical professionals believe every child is unique and therefore stimulate development in language, speech, cognition, motor skills, play and social-emotional abilities through play.
We operate an open-door policy and value parental involvement so that the daily rhythm aligns closely with home life. The group rooms feature various play corners and age-appropriate materials; children enjoy ample freedom of movement to explore, create and expand their imagination. Outdoor play and healthy nutrition are part of our daily routine.
For children from 2 years old we offer an early-years programme (VE), including additional support for children with a VVE referral. Preschool sessions are available Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 14:00 and can be booked per half-day or full day.Read more

Summary
Eigen&Wijzer Daycare Center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) and Preschool Integrated Child Centre (IKC) Tuindorp provides childcare and preschool education for up to 60 children in Amsterdam. The annual inspection of 19 June 2025 shows that the location meets all statutory quality requirements. The pedagogical climate is positive: children experience emotional safety, there is attention to language and independence, and the team works according to a clear pedagogical policy. Preschool education (voorschoolse educatie/VE) is provided following the Uk & Puk programme, with sufficient hours, qualified staff, and a pedagogical policy worker who coaches weekly. There is a warm transition to primary school. The staff-child ratio is generally adhered to, with the exception of a few brief moments in the baby and toddler groups where up to 3 hours per day are worked with fewer staff. There is a protocol for heat and indoor climate. Complaints are handled carefully, and there were no complaints in 2025. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality to take note of the report.
