About this care
Welcome to Kindercentrum D’Ukkies, our daycare centre in the heart of Winsum. We are part of Kinderopvang Het Hogeland, a trusted organisation that has been caring for children in the region for many years. Our location at Meeden 1 can accommodate up to 46 children aged 0 to 4 years, making it one of the larger KDV locations in the municipality of Het Hogeland.
At D’Ukkies we work according to the pedagogical policy of Kinderopvang Het Hogeland. Central to this are loving attention, a clean and safe environment and guiding and stimulating your child's development. Every day we want to give parents the reassurance: “Today will be fine again. I can go to work with peace of mind.”
Our childcare is open daily from 07:00 to 18:00. If desired, we can open the location half an hour earlier and/or longer. Day care can be booked per day with a minimum of 1 half-day of 5 hours (08:00-13:00 or 13:00-18:00). We work with a 51-week annual contract; the closing week between Christmas and New Year is at our expense. It is also possible to only book childcare during school weeks.
Kindercentrum D’Ukkies is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 166888606 since 27 February 2006. We offer pre-school education (VE) and have a parent participation crèche. Our pedagogical staff are ready every day to give your child a warm second home.Read more

Summary
Kindercentrum D'Ukkies in Winsum provides care for up to 46 children in two fixed groups (0-2 years and 2-4 years) and early childhood education. The annual inspection of 8 July 2025 shows that the location meets statutory requirements in many areas: the pedagogical practice is good, staff members are qualified, and care is stable. However, there were several violations, for which recovery offers were submitted. These concerned the pedagogical policy (missing description for deviation from fixed staff member, organization of early childhood education, allocation of hours for the pedagogical policy officer), an early childhood education group size exceedance, and the pedagogical policy on the website not being up to date. All violations have since been resolved. Additionally, it was established that residents of care center De Tirrel, located in the same building, do not hold a Certificate of Conduct (VOG), but they have no access to the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). The municipality is advised not to take enforcement action.
