About this care
BSO Drakenstein is located at Klarinet 1 in the Schollevaar district of Capelle aan den IJssel. We provide after-school care for up to 80 children aged 4 to 12. Our team is ready every school day to give children a safe, challenging and enjoyable time.
During school weeks we are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7.30-8.30 am for before-school care (VSO) and after school from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm for after-school care (NSO). During school holidays we welcome children from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm. We also offer care on school study days and closure days; these hours are included in a 52-week contract.
Our site is on a car-free road and there is ample parking in the neighbourhood. We use the parent Konnect app: through it you can report absence or holidays and safely follow your child’s daily diary.
Co-operation with parents is very important to us. We start with an intake meeting, hold an annual start meeting and offer parents opportunities to observe the group. Through the theme letter we keep parents informed of the current theme and provide tips to work on it at home. Summary
BSO Drakenstein in Capelle aan den IJssel provides after-school care (BSO) for 80 children aged 4-13 in three groups, located in primary school De Contrabas. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 28 April 2025 shows that the location meets all inspected statutory quality requirements. The pedagogical policy is clearly described and the practice provides children with emotional security, developmental challenge and social guidance. All staff hold the correct diplomas, Certificates of Good Conduct (VOGs) and are registered; the staff-to-child ratio was in order at all inspected times. The premises (280 m² indoor, schoolyard and nearby playing field) are safe, furnished in an age-appropriate manner and provide sufficient play opportunities. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality was advised not to take enforcement action.
