About this care

AI
Welcome to Donkey Daycare at Groeskuilen 91 in Gemert – the place where talent grows and play blossoms! We are a warm, medium-sized childcare organisation with three branches in Beek en Donk and this location in Gemert. Since 4 January 2021 we have been offering officially registered daycare (LRK 284008618) for up to 32 children aged 0 to 4. At Donkey everything revolves around a safe, personal environment where fun and growth go hand in hand. Our vertical groups mirror family life: babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers play and learn together, learning to take each other into account and picking up a lot from one another. Every day our sports coaches provide age-appropriate movement and sports activities. In this playful way your child develops a healthy lifestyle and discovers what he or she enjoys and excels at. Everything your little one needs is included: nappies, wipes, formula, fruit snacks, bread meals and in-between bites. Care products such as zinc ointment, sleeping bag or swaddle are also ready for use. For children with allergies or special dietary needs we tailor the menu personally. In our quiet bedrooms babies and toddlers can sleep safely and peacefully, while the spacious garden with play equipment invites outdoor play and natural discoveries. We use our own parent portal so you can see how your child is experiencing their day, anytime and anywhere. To develop language, thinking and numeracy skills we use recognised early childhood education (VVE). Half days, full days or flexible care: it’s all possible. Feel free to drop by for a tour and experience for yourself why parents say: “We give Donkey TEN thousand stars!”

GGD Inspection

Violations
Following the recovery offer, all assessed inspection criteria under the Childcare Act now comply. The location generally provides responsible care with strong pedagogical practice, but had significant shortcomings in policy documents and safety measures that have since been corrected.

Strengths

  • Pedagogical practice meets all requirements: staff demonstrate sensitive responsive behaviour, stimulate development purposefully, and provide emotional safety
  • Personnel and groups largely in order: correct qualifications, Certificate of Conduct (VOG) checks, language requirements, staff-child ratios and stable core groups
  • Parent rights fully in order: information provision, active parent committee, complaints procedure and connection to disputes committee
  • Indoor spaces comfortably meet requirements (3.9 and 4.8 m² per child)
  • A qualified first aider is always present

Violations

  • Pedagogical policy: missing description of regular staff shifts and break times per core group
  • Pedagogical policy: incomplete description of settling-in process for new children
  • Pedagogical policy: missing framework for deviating from staff-child ratio (occasions and pedagogical considerations)
  • Pedagogical policy: missing description of organisation and pedagogical aspects of sports activities outside core group
  • Deployment of pedagogical policy officer: incorrect calculation of minimum coaching hours (285 instead of 310 hours)
  • Safety and health policy: practice regarding play equipment did not match policy (no fall attenuation under platform)
  • Safety and health policy: missing measures for freestanding changing table in Blue core group
  • Safety and health policy: incomplete description of dealing with minor risks
  • Child abuse reporting code: contradictory and inconsistent description of responsibilities in protocol
  • Accommodation: unsafe outdoor space due to missing fall attenuation under climbing mound/slide

Summary

The annual inspection on 18 February 2026 at Donkey Kinderdagverblijf and BSO in Gemert shows a mixed picture. The location provides daycare for 32 children in two core groups (ages 0-4). The pedagogical practice, personnel matters, parent rights, and parts of safety and accommodation comply with the law. However, multiple violations were identified for which a recovery offer was issued. These concerned the pedagogical policy (4 criteria: staff deployment, settling-in process, deviating from staff-child ratio, and activities outside the core group), the deployment of the pedagogical policy officer (incorrect calculation of coaching hours), safety and health policy (3 criteria: working in accordance with policy, changing table measures, dealing with minor risks), the child abuse reporting code (responsibilities not unambiguous), and the outdoor space (unsafe climbing mound without fall attenuation). The provider made use of the recovery offer and all violations have now been resolved.
