About this care
Welcome to De Wijde Wereld, a small-scale daycare centre located at Poolse Dreef 4 in Terheijden. We provide a warm, safe and homely environment where children aged 0 to 4 can grow and develop at their own pace. Our core values are peace, warmth and security.
Our experienced childcare professionals work with small groups: a maximum of 6 babies and 12 toddlers. This allows us to give every child the personal attention they deserve. We use horizontal grouping with fixed baby and toddler groups, ensuring that activities and guidance are perfectly tailored to your child’s age and developmental stage.
At De Wijde Wereld we believe in learning through play. Our spacious garden and bright rooms offer plenty of opportunities to explore, move and grow. We sing songs, read books from our library and do arts and crafts with natural materials. For our toddler groups we offer a preschool education (VVE) programme that stimulates language, numeracy and social skills in a playful way.
Every day we serve a warm, organic meal and healthy snacks. Bottle feeding, fruit and drinks are included. For the youngest ones we have separate sleeping rooms with cribs and beds, so your child can sleep peacefully whenever needed.

Summary
The annual inspection by GGD West-Brabant on 27 July 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Wijde Wereld Kinderopvang in Terheijden shows a predominantly positive picture. The location, part of a sole proprietorship and housed in a former farmhouse, provides care for a maximum of 22 children (ages 0-4) divided into two groups. On three of the four assessed areas (pedagogical climate, staff and groups, accommodation), legal requirements were met immediately. Regarding safety and health, there was initially a shortcoming: staff had insufficient knowledge of the obligation to report, consult, and file a formal complaint in cases of suspected sexual abuse or maltreatment, including the role of the confidential inspector. Following a recovery offer with a deadline of 17 September 2026, the provider demonstrated on 14 September 2026 that measures had been taken: an annual plan, team meetings, posters, and extensive discussions. The violation has been resolved. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Drimmelen not to apply enforcement.
