Summary

Kindercentrum De Volkstuin in Schiedam, part of Kom kids Kinderopvang B.V., was inspected on 7 May 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond. This was an unannounced annual inspection for toddler care (ages 2.5–4 years) with 16 places. All assessed quality requirements were met: pedagogical policy and practice, staff qualifications, staff-to-child ratios, safety and health policy, and parent information. The pedagogical practice demonstrates sensitive, responsive guidance in which children playfully learn social competence and social norms. The safety policy is comprehensive and up-to-date, with attention to risks, transgressive behavior, and first aid. During the previous inspection (June 2024), there was a violation regarding safety and health, which was resolved through a recovery offer. The GGD advises no enforcement action.
