About this care
Welcome to Kindcentrum De Vlindertuin, a Protestant Christian child center in the Zuidwijk neighborhood of Heerhugowaard. We are located on two sites and are open to everyone who feels at home with our concept. We offer daycare (0-4 years), toddler playgroup, out-of-school care (4-12 years) and primary education under one roof. We work result-oriented and offer peace, structure and clarity so that children can develop optimally. Our daycare is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 52 weeks a year. Our out-of-school care is also open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We use the Konnect parent portal to keep you informed about your child's daily activities. Summary
GGD Hollands Noorden conducted an unannounced follow-up investigation on 12 November 2025 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Vlindertuin (53 places, ages 0-4) in Heerhugowaard. The investigation was prompted by a violation from the annual inspection on 6 August 2025: the holder had failed to consult directly with the confidential inspector after suspecting child abuse by a staff member. The municipality imposed a recovery deadline of 10 November 2025. The follow-up investigation shows that the holder made a report on 6 November 2025 after all, all involved parents were informed, the staff member in question was deployed elsewhere, and additional training on the reporting code was announced. The shortcoming has thereby been resolved.
