About this care
Welcome to De Speeldoos daycare, located at De Knip 1 in the heart of Rhoon, close to Rhoon shopping centre. We are part of Gro-up childcare and offer a safe, trusted place where your child can playfully discover the world from eight weeks up to four years old.
Our location uses horizontal groups: two baby/toddler groups and one preschool group. Thanks to this small-scale set-up, everyone knows each other; both children and parents quickly feel at home. The rooms are transparent and brightly decorated, giving your child plenty of freedom to explore and play. After all, play is the way children make sense of their surroundings and practise social skills. Our experienced team of pedagogical staff guide them respectfully, so every child has fun with peers and learns to interact with others.
We provide Early Childhood Education (VE), which gives extra stimulation to language, motor and social development. For the youngest we take care of bottle feeding and naps in separate sleeping rooms; for the preschool group we offer age-appropriate activities that match their curiosity and developmental stage. Parents experience our approach as open and involved: we love to share what occupies your child and keep communication short and clear.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 29 June 2026 at toddler daycare De Speeldoos in Rhoon. The location provides care for 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4 years and implements early childhood education using the Uk & Puk method. All assessed quality requirements were met: pedagogical policy, pedagogical practice, early childhood education, deployment of pedagogical policy officer, Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag/VOG) and parent committee. No violations were identified. The pedagogical practice meets all requirements: children receive sensitive care, there is structure and attention is given to emotional safety, personal and social competence, and the transfer of norms and values. The early childhood education is well organised with sufficient hours, qualified staff and parent involvement. There is no parent committee, but this is not mandatory for locations with a maximum of 50 places; parents are consulted in other ways. The GGD advises no enforcement action.
