About this care
Welcome to De Regenboog, a daycare centre at Prinses Irenelaan 5 in Alphen aan den Rijn. Our modern, child-friendly space features challenging play corners where children can play and discover: experimenting with paint, making music, playing shop or playing outside on the playground. De Regenboog has four vertical groups for daycare (0-4 years) and is also the main location of Shezaf. The location is on a through road, near shopping centre De Baronie.
Our enthusiastic pedagogical staff offer a wide range of activities in sports and games, crafts, nature, music and drama. We work with the Uk en Puk VVE programme, with a different theme every six weeks. This programme stimulates development and self-development through play.
Daycare is open from 07:30 to 18:00, with extended care possible from 07:00-07:30 (free breakfast) and from 18:00-18:30. Various packages are available: the Total package (52 weeks), School weeks package (40 weeks) or a Flexible package.
Food, drinks, care products and educational activities are included. Parents stay informed via the Konnect app. Each location also has its own parent committee.Read more

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Regenboog in Alphen aan den Rijn, part of stichting SHEZAF, was inspected on 10 April 2026 by Municipal Health Service (GGD) Hollands Midden. The unannounced annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health. The pedagogical practice demonstrates positive interactions: staff respond sensitively to children, guide social skills, and stimulate development. The early childhood education with the Uk & Puk program is well organized, with sufficient hours and a pedagogical policy officer. Two new employees are still working on their VE certificate; a temporary staff member without 3FVE is deployed as surplus staff. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
