About this care
Welcome to BSO De Piramide, located at Boschjesstraat 66 in Koog aan de Zaan. We provide before-school care (VSO), after-school care (NSO) and holiday care for children aged 4 to 12 in close partnership with De Piramide primary school. Our team of professional pedagogical staff work closely with the school’s teachers to ensure a smooth transition from classroom to after-school activities.
BSO De Piramide is housed in the same building as the primary school, so children can walk straight to the after-school area at the end of the school day—no extra transport is needed. The rooms are bright and welcoming, with dedicated zones for relaxation, crafts, games and physical play. We have a secure courtyard and regularly use the school gym and playroom for sports and games.
Children are free to choose what they feel like doing: building with LEGO, board games, creative crafts, reading in our quiet corner or playing outside. We also run themed activities linked to the seasons or current events. During school holidays we offer an extended programme that includes trips to local playgrounds, museums and nature areas.

Summary
After-school care (BSO) De Piramide in Koog aan de Zaan (Tinteltuin) received its annual unannounced Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection on 17 July 2025. The location meets all requirements for pedagogical climate: the policy is concrete, the practice is safe and stimulating, children feel emotionally secure and experience sufficient challenge. Staffing is in order: sufficient qualified staff members, correct use of exception hours and back-up staff. Stability is also arranged through fixed base groups of maximum 30 children and a mentor per child. There is one violation: one employee had not yet been (re)linked in the national personnel register at the time of inspection, so it could not be confirmed whether the Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) check had been fully completed before the start of employment. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) views this as an administrative shortcoming, not a direct risk to children. No recovery offer is needed because the registration link has since been completed. The municipal executive board (college van B&W) is advised to enforce in accordance with policy, particularly to ensure continued full PRK registration.
