About this care
Welcome to De Piraatjes, our toddler group in the heart of Austerlitz! We are part of MeanderOmnium and offer a warm, safe place for children aged two to four. In our cozy location at Schoolweg 2, up to 16 children can play, discover and grow in a playful way.
At De Piraatjes, we believe every child is unique and develops at their own pace. Our childcare professionals create a familiar environment where your child can be themselves. We work with horizontal groups, bringing together children of the same age. This allows us to perfectly tailor our activities to your toddler's developmental stage.
Our location features a beautiful garden where children can go outside daily. Natural play and discovery are central. We provide preschool education (VVE), playfully preparing your child for primary school. This includes language development through reading and singing, as well as learning to play together and encouraging independence.
We take care of healthy snacks and a bread meal. Does your child have special dietary needs? No problem, we're happy to accommodate. Care products are available and there's a quiet bedroom for those who need a nap.

Summary
The annual inspection on 9 March 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Piraatjes in Austerlitz showed that the location met requirements immediately on two of three domains. The pedagogical climate initially did not comply because practice deviated from policy on the continuous developmental line and children's settling-in. After a recovery offer, in which the location adjusted its pedagogical policy plan and work plan, this domain was subsequently approved. The pedagogical practice, staff and groups, safety and health, and accommodation all complied immediately. The pedagogical practice was assessed positively with a relaxed atmosphere and engaged staff. The early childhood education using the Pyramid method and the deployment of the pedagogical policy staff member also met requirements.
