About this care
Welcome to De Loeiende Koe, our small-scale daycare center on the farm at Jisperweg 134 in Westbeemster. Since 2014, we have been providing care for children from 10 weeks to 4 years in a unique, rural environment. As an agricultural childcare facility, we are part of the United Agricultural Childcare (VAK) and combine professional care with the richness of farm life.
With us, children have all the space to develop at their own pace. The natural environment is our biggest playground: children can play outside, get dirty and discover where their food comes from. The dairy farm offers daily new adventures and learning moments. Our pedagogical staff guide the children with lots of personal attention in small groups.
We use a vertical group structure, where children of different ages play and learn together. This stimulates social development and creates a warm, homely atmosphere. The farm garden and the animals on the premises make every day special. Children learn through play about nature, seasonal rhythms and farm life.

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Loeiende Koe in Westbeemster is an agricultural childcare facility in a stolp farmhouse with places for 30 children in two core groups. The annual Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 11 September 2025 shows that the location meets the statutory quality requirements in all areas. The pedagogical climate is experienced positively: the policy has been worked out in concrete terms, staff know it and implement it, and there is ample attention for emotional safety, social/motor development, and the transfer of norms and values. Staff and training requirements, registration in the persons register, staff-to-child ratios, stability of core groups and familiar faces are all in order. The accommodation provides sufficiently and safely furnished indoor (70-75 m² per group) and outdoor space (169 m²), a separate sleeping area for babies, and a natural outdoor play environment with animals. During the inspection visit there was one violation: the safety and health policy contained insufficient location-specific risks and measures for, for example, dealing with tractors and animals. The GGD issued a recovery offer for this; the holder supplemented the policy and now meets the requirements. No other points for improvement were identified. The municipality is advised not to enforce and to close the report in accordance with policy.
