About this childminding agency
Gastouderbureau De Kleine Romein is a small-scale, personal agency that helps parents find a suitable childminder (gastouder) in the Nissewaard and Hoogvliet area. We match parents with professional childminders, looking not only at practical matters such as days and times, but also at what a child needs to develop in calm, structure and trust. Our childminders provide care for a maximum of 6 children in a homely and safe environment, either at the childminder's home or at the parents' home (nanny). As a registered childminder agency, we meet all legal requirements and our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). Parents are eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) and can count on personal guidance, clear contracts and transparent communication.

For parents
Gastouderbureau De Kleine Romein helps you find a loving and reliable childminder (gastouder) who fits your family situation, daily rhythm, and parenting style. We work small-scale and regionally, which means we know our childminders personally and can think along with you in a targeted way. You can choose from care at the childminder's home β homely, safe, and small-scale β or care at your own home (nanny) for a maximum of 3 days per week, with entitlement to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We always look for a childminder who matches your wishes and in whom you have complete confidence.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) with Gastouderbureau De Kleine Romein because we are a registered childcare organization. We are happy to provide you with a free quote including a clear benefit calculation. You are responsible for applying for and modifying the benefit yourself via the benefits app of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. The government website features the benefits app where you can easily apply for and modify your benefits.
The monthly costs for care consist of two parts: agency fees (placement costs) of β¬55.50 per month per family, and the childminder's hourly rate, which is passed on through the agency. The recommended rate we use is the maximum hourly rate for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We are happy to provide you with a free quote including a clear benefit calculation. Registration is free of charge and without obligation.
Trust & screening
All childminders are carefully screened before joining our agency. This includes a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) for the childminder and all household members aged 18 and over. Childminders must hold at least an MBO-2 diploma in Care and Welfare Assistance, including a pedagogical module. In addition, they complete mandatory first aid (EHBO) training and continuing education. We visit childminders at least twice a year, both announced and unannounced, to safeguard quality.

Mission & vision
At Gastouderbureau De Kleine Romein, we believe that good childcare starts with a safe foundation and clear agreements. That's why we work small-scale and personally: we know our childminders (gastouders), we know the families, and we know what children need to feel comfortable. Our vision is that children thrive in an environment where calm, attention, and genuine connection are central.
Pedagogical vision
Our pedagogical policy is based on the four pedagogical pillars of Marianne Riksen-Walraven: emotional and physical safety, development of personal competencies, development of social competencies, and norms and values. We work child-led and adapt to each child's interests, pace, and needs. Play is central, because play is learning. We create a warm, respectful relationship in which the child feels seen, heard, and safe.

GGD Inspection
Violations
Inspection date: February 26, 2026
Shortcomings
- The provider had insufficient knowledge of the reporting code, incorrectly used Sisa for preventive registration of children upon placement, and reported a suspicion of incorrect childcare benefit application through Sisa while this did not constitute a care signal concerning the child.
Violations
- The provider insufficiently promotes knowledge and use of the reporting code (Art. 1.51a(4) Childcare Act). The provider had insufficient knowledge of their own reporting code, incorrectly used Sisa for preventive registration of children upon placement, and reported a suspicion of incorrect childcare benefit application through Sisa while this did not concern a care signal about the child.
Summary
Childminder agency (gastouderbureau) De Kleine Romein in Spijkenisse was inspected on 26 February 2026 following a signal about quality. The agency mediates childminders (gastouders) for children aged 0-12 years in Nissewaard. The inspection focused on the reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse. The provider proved to have insufficient knowledge of the reporting code and had preventively registered children in Sisa (Verwijsindex), which is not the intended purpose of this system. This concerned a suspicion of incorrect childcare benefit application by a parent, not a care signal about the child. The provider acknowledged the error, offered apologies, submitted a recovery request to Sisa, and tightened its working methods. As of 1 March 2026, the pedagogical policy plan has been amended. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises enforcement.
