About this care
Welcome to De Kinderkei, located at Keiweg 2 in Wolvega. We provide out-of-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 7 in a homely and safe environment. Our location uses age-based groups so every child feels comfortable and can enjoy age-appropriate activities.
For children aged 4 to 4.3 years, we have the **De Draken BSO** group, followed by **De Slingerapen** for children aged 4.4 to 5.5 years and **De Krokodillen** for children aged 5.6 to 7 years. From age 7, children move to **De Panters** at Haulerweg, where they enjoy exciting activities including a children's cooking café.
Our BSO offers small-scale groups with plenty of personal attention. Children can enjoy playing in our indoor playground: the **Kinderkei-Jungle**. We regularly organize excursions and activities, such as cooking in our children's cooking café. We strive for flexibility and are happy to work with you to find customized solutions that fully meet your needs.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Fryslân conducted an unannounced annual inspection at BSO De Kinderkei in Wolvega on 6 May 2026. The location, part of Kinderopvang De Kinderkei B.V., provides after-school care (buitenschoolse opvang/BSO) to 58 children across three base groups (Slingerapen, Krokodillen, and Draken). The inspection included document review, a site visit, conversations with staff members, and email contact with the location manager. All assessed inspection items in the areas of pedagogical climate, safety and health, accommodation, and parental rights met legal requirements. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. Pedagogical practice was positively assessed on all four core objectives: emotional safety, personal competence, social competence, and transmission of norms and values. The accommodation more than meets requirements for indoor and outdoor play space. The GGD advises the municipality of Weststellingwerf not to take enforcement measures.
