About this care
Welcome to De Dikkedeur Buiten-BSO II at Langepad 47 in Rotterdam. We provide after-school care for up to 29 children aged 4 to 12. Our experienced team welcomes children Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 14:30 to 18:30 and on Wednesday from 11:30 to 18:30.
Nature experience and physical activity are at the heart of our programme. Located next to the Kralingse Bos, we make daily use of the vast outdoor space. Children enjoy healthy meals and snacks, giving them the energy to play and explore.
Our pedagogical approach focuses on building children’s confidence and social skills. We organise activities in age groups: Buiten-BSO I for 7-9-year-olds and Buiten-BSO II for older children, ensuring every activity matches each child’s developmental stage.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 22 June 2026 at De Dikkedeur Buiten-BSO in Rotterdam, an after-school care (BSO) for children aged 8 to 13 years with 29 places. The location generally complies well with the quality requirements. The pedagogical practice, staffing, accommodation and complaints handling were found to be in order. However, a violation was identified regarding information provision to parents: the website contained an outdated version of the pedagogical policy and a non-current link to the inspection report. The operator made use of the recovery offer and the deficiencies were resolved on 15 July 2026. The GGD advises the municipality not to take enforcement measures.
