BSO De Buffer

After-school care (BSO) De Buffer in Hoogvliet Rotterdam offers after-school care for children aged 4 to 13. The BSO is located in the school building at Aalreep 24, together with toddler care (peuteropvang) De Zeemeermin and two year groups of primary school De Zalmplaat. Together with daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Druppels, they form the Integraal Kind Centrum (IKC) Zalmplaat. We offer before-school care (VSO), lunchtime care (TSO) and after-school care (NSO) at this location. Our pedagogical staff members from the TSO are also present during the NSO, so children always see a familiar face. During the TSO, we provide a healthy bread-based meal. We work with duo groups. Every week, a new DOENKIDS activity programme is ready, allowing children to discover and develop their interests. We value children's participation: we listen to their ideas and wishes and incorporate these into our activities and play materials. The BSO picks up children on foot from PCB Zalmplaat. The groups are divided across the ground floor (Seagulls, Beachcombers, Orcas) and the upper floor (Stingrays, Sharks). During school holidays, care is available from 7:30 to 18:00, with extended care possible by arrangement.
