About this care
Welcome to Dak Kosmos on Withuysstraat 4 in The Hague! We are a daycare centre where children from zero to four years old are lovingly cared for and enjoy playing together. Our location is set up with various play corners that invite children to explore and discover. The beautiful, green outdoor play area at the back is a true play paradise and promises plenty of water, sand and mud fun.
For toddlers aged 2.5 to 4 years, we offer Early Childhood Education (ECE) using the Uk&Puk programme. This way, your toddler is playfully prepared for the transition to primary school. We follow a horizontal group structure, where children are cared for in age groups. This ensures a safe and development-oriented environment for every child.
Dak Kosmos is part of Dak Kindercentra, an organisation that believes in growing up in the neighbourhood. We stand for small-scale, familiar childcare where children feel at home. Dak Kosmos at Withuysstraat 4 in 's-Gravenhage provides daycare (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for up to 53 children aged 0-4 years and was inspected unannounced on 7 April 2025. The childcare centre generally meets the statutory quality requirements: the pedagogical policy is current and well implemented, early education (VE) is provided according to the Uk & Puk programme, the group rooms are thematically designed, parents are actively involved and all staff hold the correct diplomas and VOG screening. There is always at least one adult with paediatric first aid (kind-EHBO) present and the safety and health policy is in order. However, one violation was identified: knowledge of the mandatory reporting, consultation and disclosure obligation (MOA) regarding signs of child abuse by colleagues was insufficient. Following a recovery offer, the organisation provided additional training to the team and the violation was resolved within the deadline. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality to enforce in accordance with the enforcement policy.
