About this care
Welcome to Buitenschoolse opvang DolFijn in Schimmert! We are part of Stichting Kinderopvang Nuth and have been providing childcare for children aged 4 to 12 years for over 40 years in a relaxed and safe environment.
Our location at St. Remigiusstraat 1a in Schimmert accommodates up to 22 children. We believe personal attention and space for individuality are very important, as every child is unique. Therefore, we stimulate each child's individual development in a playful way, with the most important principle being that children come to our after-school care with pleasure!
We offer before-school care on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 AM (or 8:00 AM) to 8:30 AM. Our after-school care is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM. During school holidays, we provide holiday care at our BSO in Nuth.

GGD Zuid-Limburg conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 25 August 2026 at BSO DolFijn in Schimmert, part of Stichting Kinderopvang Nuth. The location provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 22 school-age children (ages 4-13) at the Brede School Schimortera. All assessed quality requirements have been met: pedagogical climate, staff and groups, accommodation, and parental rights. The pedagogical policy is discussed in team meetings and aligns with practice. The staff-to-child ratio was correct with 1 pedagogical professional for 8 children present. The group room (80 m²), gym hall, and outdoor play area meet all requirements. No complaints were received in 2025. In the past (January 2024), there was a recovery offer regarding the pedagogical policy, which has been successfully completed.
