About this care
Welcome to bso Wiedewei Den Hout, located at Houtse Heuvel 30 in the heart of Den Hout. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 in a warm, natural environment. Our team of professional pedagogical staff welcomes up to 20 children each day in a homely setting where relaxation, play and discovery are central.
At Wiedewei we believe that the outdoors offers the greatest adventures. Our spacious garden invites children to garden, build, climb and play together. Children are given the freedom to pursue their own ideas, building self-confidence and social skills. We offer a varied programme in which nature experience, creative expression and joint games go hand in hand.
Before-school care starts at 07.30, allowing parents to begin their working day in peace. After school we pick the children up and provide a healthy lunch and fresh fruit as a snack. Until 18.30 there is plenty of time to chill, build, craft or take part in one of our nature-based activities. We work with horizontal groups, where children of different ages play and learn together.

Strengths
- The tilt-and-turn windows were closed during the site visit

- During the annual inspection of 23 March 2026, two tilt-and-turn windows (skylights) were open while the safety plan stipulates that these may only be used in tilt position (Article 13, paragraph 1 of the Childcare Quality Decree). This violation was lifted following a recovery offer.
Summary
GGD West-Brabant conducted an unannounced follow-up inspection on 7 May 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Wiedewei Den Hout, on behalf of the municipality of Oosterhout. The inspection focused on safety and health, specifically the safety and health policy. The reason was a previous violation identified during the annual inspection of 23 March 2026, when tilt-and-turn windows were open while the safety plan stipulates that these may only be used in tilt position. During the follow-up inspection, the tilt-and-turn windows were found to be closed, stickers had been applied, and all staff members were aware of the agreements.
