About this care
Our after-school care facility KC Leyenburg is located at Edamstraat 10 in The Hague, right next to Leyenburg primary school. We provide care for 87 children aged 4 to 12. After school, children can play safely and challengingly on a spacious schoolyard equipped with various play facilities. Additionally, we have access to a large gymnasium for use during bad weather or for sports activities.
The location is part of Kindcentrum Leyenburg, a collaboration between childcare and education under one roof. This creates a continuous line in the development of children from 0 to 12 years. The BSO works intensively with the primary school, contributing to a familiar and recognizable environment for the children.
Our pedagogical staff provide warm and professional care where there is room for relaxation, play, and development. We believe it is important that children feel at home and have the space to discover and develop their own interests. The childcare centre generally meets the statutory quality requirements: the pedagogical policy is well implemented, staff are correctly registered and certified, the safety and health policy is up-to-date and adhered to, and parents receive clear information. There is one violation: no parent committee has yet been established, although more than 50 children are cared for. The organisation has actively recruited parents through conversations, newsletters, posters and the parent portal, and has valid regulations ready. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) sees sufficient effort and advises the municipality not to enforce.
