About this care
BSO Thuizzz de Vlechttuinen is a Christian after-school care facility in Urk, located at Vlechttuinen 8. We provide care for children aged 4 to 13 and see ourselves as an extension of the parents. Our mission is to offer every child what he or she needs from a Christian identity. Children can enjoy playing indoors or outdoors, do crafts, play in themed corners, read in the chillpit, or engage in sports in the gym. Climbing in the garden or riding on a skelter is also possible.
Our pedagogical staff have solid training and an eye for each child's talents, which they aim to develop through play. We safely pick up and drop off children from all schools in Urk with our two minibuses. Before-school care starts at 7:30 AM and after-school care runs until 6:30 PM. During holiday periods we operate adjusted hours from 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM.

Summary
BSO Thuizzz de Vlechttuinen in Urk was inspected unannounced on 23 October 2025. The annual investigation focused on pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. Following a recovery offer, the location now meets all assessed requirements. There were two violations: the absence of a description of the key risks associated with use of the cafeteria and sports hall, including corresponding measures. These have since been rectified within the recovery offer of 13 November 2025. Pedagogical practice proceeds in accordance with policy, with attention to child participation and social interaction. Safety is ensured through the presence of a first aid certificate, evacuation drills, and an up-to-date safety policy. Parents are well informed via website and parent portal, and there is an active parent committee. No grounds for enforcement action.
