About this care
Welcome to BSO Sport Park 16hoven, our sporty after-school care located in the green heart of Rotterdam. We are part of Norlandia Kinderopvang and provide care for up to 48 children aged 4 to 12. Our location is situated at Sportpark Zestienhoven, giving us daily access to extensive sports facilities and spacious outdoor areas.
Everything we do revolves around sports, movement and fun. After school, children can release their energy by participating in various sports activities. We organize football, korfball, hockey and other team sports, as well as individual sports like athletics and gymnastics. All activities are age-appropriate and tailored to the children's interests. We believe that sports and games not only benefit physical development but also contribute to social skills and self-confidence.
We safely pick up children from various primary schools in the area and bring them to our location at the sports park. Here they can enjoy themselves on the sports fields, play in nature or relax in our spacious indoor area. Our pedagogical staff are specially trained in guiding sports activities and ensure that every child feels safe and challenged.
Our location offers plenty of space for both active and quiet moments. After an intensive sports activity, children can unwind in our cozy corner with books and games. Summary
BSO Sport Park 16hoven (Norlandia Kinderopvang Rotterdam B.V.) provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 48 children aged 7–13 in a sports canteen on Van der Duijn van Maasdamweg in Rotterdam. The annual unannounced inspection visit on 28 October 2025 shows that the care provision meets legal requirements on almost all aspects: pedagogical policy and practice are well-developed and observed to be positive, staff are qualified and registered in the Persons Register, staff-to-child ratios are correct, and there is a functioning domestic violence reporting protocol. Two violations were identified: staff had insufficient knowledge of the duty to report, consult, and file a formal complaint in cases of suspected abuse within the organisation, and the group room contained visible alcohol-related items (beer refrigerators, taps, promotional materials). Both violations were resolved through a recovery offer within the set timeframe: staff have been instructed and trained, alcohol-related items have been covered or removed, and structural agreements have been made with the football association. The location now meets all inspected quality requirements. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
