IKEC Scheerder

Welcome to IKEC Scheerder, our after-school care location at Scheerder 2 in Hoorn. We provide care for up to 24 children aged 4 to 7 years. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland, we work closely with IKEC de Zevensprong, allowing children at our location to use the care facilities at this location. Our pedagogical staff pick up the children after school and bring them to our location. There we drink and eat together in the base group. Between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM we offer activities that we have determined together with the children. Children can choose from various sports and games activities, creative activities, cooking or gardening. Our spaces are designed so that children can spend their free time in a fun, structured and meaningful way. Structure makes it predictable for the children, making the child feel safe in the environment. We maintain a fixed daily rhythm. Emphasizing good qualities and positive approach increases children's social and emotional skills. Our vision is based on the principle 'Love and boundaries make children beautiful people'. The care is open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During school holidays we offer holiday care, with a different theme each time. We organize four study days annually for all staff, during which the care is closed. These hours are not charged. Registration, placement and payment are handled through Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland.
