About this care
Sam&jaap is our welcoming after-school care centre right in the heart of Deventer, located at Muggeplein 9. We provide care for up to 16 primary-school children and are officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 469962446. Our BSO is named after ‘meester Jaap’, a familiar face in the neighbourhood.
At Sam&jaap, children never have to ‘do’ anything. After a busy school day there is plenty of room to relax, read, do arts and crafts or simply have fun with friends. We have lots of toys and our professional pedagogical staff organise themed activities all year round. Occasionally we go on excursions and we also collaborate with Raster’s children’s work team, so there is always something exciting to experience.
Our staff are on hand every day with enthusiasm and dedication. They create a warm, secure atmosphere in which every child feels safe and welcome. We are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00 to 18:30 and Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 18:30. Summary
BSO Sam & Jaap in Deventer is part of Raster Kinderopvang and provides after-school care (BSO) and holiday care for up to 44 children. The annual inspection visit on 6 October 2025 shows that the location complies with the Childcare Act in all areas. Key strengths include: all staff hold a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), fixed base groups with a mentor per child, a clear safety and health policy, a first aid (EHBO) certified staff member always present, and comprehensive parent communication via website, newsletters and parent portal. There is an active parent committee and a proper complaints procedure. During the inspection, it emerged that the team had insufficient knowledge of the mandatory reporting, consultation and disclosure obligation (MOA) regarding suspected sexual offences or abuse. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) issued a recovery offer which was completed within the set deadline: staff were informed via the personnel portal, the policy was updated and the material was incorporated into the onboarding module. The violation has thereby been resolved. The municipal executive is advised not to take enforcement action.
