About this care
We are BSO Roversbende, located in the building of primary school De Boomhut at Bernhardlaan 10 in Arnhem. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 years in three different groups, each tailored to the age and development of the child.
The Zeerovers is designed for children aged 4 to 6 years. This group accommodates up to 20 children and uses the school basement and playground. Children have access to various spaces and can also interact with children from the Eilandrovers. We offer activities specifically tailored to this young age group.
The Eilandrovers is for children aged 7 to 8/9 years. They also play in the school basement and have access to multiple spaces. This group accommodates up to 24 children. Activities are designed for children aged 4 to 9 years, taking into account different developmental levels.
The Strandjutters is our group for children aged 8 to 13 years. This group is located on the first floor of the school and accommodates up to 24 children. Children can independently go to the playground to play together with the younger groups. At the Strandjutters, we offer challenging activities specifically for children aged 9 and older.
Our location accommodates a total of up to 74 children. We work with thematic activities and encourage nature and outdoor activities. Our pedagogical staff guide children with homework and offer sports and creative activities. Summary
After-school care (BSO) Roversbende in Arnhem, part of Skar, was inspected on 16 January 2026. The location provides care for a maximum of 45 children divided across two base groups in the building of the Julianaschool. The inspection reveals a predominantly positive picture: the pedagogical climate is good, with a relaxed atmosphere in which children feel emotionally safe and staff respond sensitively and responsively. Safety, health, staff registration and complaints handling also meet statutory requirements. However, one violation was identified: the location has not yet established a parent committee, despite this being legally required. The holder is making sufficient efforts to recruit parents and has concrete plans to increase parent involvement. No recovery offer was issued as these efforts are considered sufficient. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement.
