About this care

AI
Welcome to BSO RIANT Verlengde Duinvallei, located in the brand-new premises in Almere Duin, right behind the Marina harbour. We share the modern building with primary school IKC De Duinvlinder, ensuring a seamless transition from school to after-school care. In the afternoon our pedagogical staff, clearly recognisable in RIANT clothing, collect the children from the school playground. Each child receives a safety vest for visibility and security. Together we walk to our spacious, bright after-school rooms where a fun afternoon full of activities awaits. Upon arrival, a refreshing drink and healthy snack are always ready. Afterwards, children choose which themed activity they want to join that afternoon. Our regular themed programmes are Cooking & Baking, where children prepare simple dishes independently and learn about nutrition; Sport 6+ & Chill, making use of IKC De Duinvlinder’s modern gym for sports and games, alternated with quiet moments; and our Cooking Studio for the budding chefs. We work with horizontal groups so activities perfectly match each child’s age and development. The afternoon always ends with a shared warm meal, after which children can play freely until parents arrive. Our location accommodates up to 92 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 22 November 2023 under number 292211338. Nicole Holdorp is our location manager and, together with her team, ensures every afternoon is a celebration.

GGD Inspection

Violations

Inspection date: November 14, 2025

9
Strengths
1
Shortcomings
1
Violations
The after-school care (BSO) meets most quality requirements; due to the absence of an active parent committee, there is one violation, but no grounds for enforcement action.

Strengths

  • Positive pedagogical climate with engaged, permanent staff members
  • Children are given plenty of freedom of choice and learn rules and respect
  • Up-to-date safety and health policy, first aider always present
  • Allergies clearly visible and known to the team and substitute staff
  • Regular evacuation drills, good incident protocols
  • Domestic violence reporting code known and recently refreshed
  • Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and PRK registration in order
  • Parents well informed through website, newsletters and parent portal
  • Effective complaints procedure and affiliation with the Disputes Committee

Shortcomings

  • Continue actively recruiting new members for the parent committee until at least one BSO parent is a member

Violations

  • No active parent committee present for the BSO

Summary

The annual unannounced inspection visit on 14 November 2025 to BSO RIANT Verlengde Duinvalleiweg in Almere Poort shows that the after-school care (BSO) meets statutory requirements on virtually all aspects. The pedagogical climate is positive: staff consciously work according to the current policy, offer children freedom of choice, and stimulate social skills. Safety and health are well arranged; a first aider is always present, allergies are visibly registered, evacuation drills are carried out, and the domestic violence reporting code is known to the team. Parents are informed through the website, newsletter and parent portal, and can turn to an effective complaints procedure and the Disputes Committee. The location has a maximum of 50 children (ages 4-12) divided across chill, sports and cooking activities. There is one violation: there is currently no active parent committee for the BSO, while the law for small locations does require that the holder demonstrably makes an effort to form a parent committee. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) sees that the organisation is actively recruiting new members (posters, newsletter, conversations) and therefore advises against enforcement. The holder acknowledges the problem and is continuing recruitment without reservation.
