About this care
Welcome to Partou Schip Ahoy! Our after-school care centre is located at De Frisia 150b in Drachten, right in the ABC complex of the Folgeren district. We provide care for up to 70 children aged 4 to 12. Because we share the building with primary schools De Bolder and CBS Het Anker, children simply walk from their classroom to our BSO without crossing any streets.
Every afternoon is an adventure with us. We love to head outside: treasure hunts through the neighbourhood, sports and games on the surrounding fields, or a creative project in our own space. Children decide for themselves what they want to do. Crafts, cooking, air hockey, pool or putting on a play – anything is possible. Of course, there is also time to read quietly or simply enjoy free play.
Our pedagogical professionals work from six building blocks that help children grow through play. We provide a safe environment in which every child feels seen and can be themselves. Through our own app we keep parents updated on their child’s experiences.

GGD Fryslân conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 1 June 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Schip Ahoy in Drachten, part of Smallsteps kinderopvang B.V. (also known as Partou). The after-school care accommodates up to 70 children aged 4 to 13 years, divided across three groups. The inspection included document review, a site visit, conversations with childcare workers, and contact with the location manager. All assessed inspection items regarding pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights were evaluated. The licence holder meets all statutory quality requirements. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The parent committee is active and satisfied with the quality. The advice to the municipality of Smallingerland is: no enforcement.
