About this care
BSO Westerschool is located at Groen van Prinstererlaan 24 in Wildervank and is part of Kids First, an organization specialized in childcare. Our after-school care accommodates up to 22 children aged 4 to 12 years.
We are situated at the same location as Westerschool primary school, allowing us to provide a seamless transition from school to after-school care. Our facility is specially designed for after-school care with spaces suitable for both quiet activities and active play.
BSO Westerschool structurally collaborates with BSO de Braskörf in Veendam. During school holidays, study days, and on Wednesdays and Fridays, we combine our groups with BSO de Braskörf. On these days, BSO Westerschool is closed and we provide care jointly at the BSO de Braskörf location.

BSO Westerschool in Wildervank, part of Kids First Kinderopvang, was inspected on 18 September 2025 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Groningen. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates a maximum of 22 children aged 4-12 years in one base group. All assessed components (pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights) meet statutory requirements. The location has a current pedagogical work plan, qualified staff with valid Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG), and meets the staff-to-child ratio. As fewer than 50 children are cared for, a parent committee is not mandatory; parents are involved in policy through the parent app and newsletters. This annual inspection proceeded without remarks, in contrast to the November 2024 inspection during which shortcomings were identified that were subsequently resolved.
