About this care
Welcome to Monkey Moves BSO Rheden, our brand-new after-school care facility located at IJsselsingel 91 in Rheden. Starting October 2025, we will welcome up to 41 children aged 4 to 12 years. We are part of Monkey Moves Arnhem BSO B.V., a social enterprise that has been inspiring children with the joy of movement for over 10 years.
Our focus is on healthy movement in nature. We are outdoors all year round, regardless of the season. Our location is situated next to a large sports park with artificial grass fields, an indoor sports hall, and a natural playground. The forest-rich environment offers endless opportunities for adventurous activities. Risky play and getting dirty are more the rule than the exception here.
We offer a unique concept where children are introduced to 12 different sports. From athletics to baseball, from climbing and scrambling to team sports. In addition to sports, there is also room for rest and creative activities such as crafts and reading. We create a safe environment where children can unwind after a busy school day.
Our after-school care collaborates with all primary schools in Rheden: Mauritiusschool, Rheder Enk, and Holtbanck. We pick up children and bring them to our location where a healthy, organic meal awaits. We believe in the power of healthy nutrition as fuel for growth and development.
Our pedagogical staff guide children in small mixed-age groups. We provide structure and routine, but also the freedom to make their own choices. Each child can follow their own interests while we have fun together moving and discovering.

- Sufficiently qualified staff with appropriate diplomas and language proficiency
- Each child has an assigned mentor
- Safety and health policy is concrete and up to date
- Domestic violence and child abuse reporting protocol is well implemented

- Pedagogical policy staff member still needs to be appointed (will be checked at next inspection)
- Parent committee must still be established within six months of registration (will be checked at next inspection)
Summary
Monkey Moves BSO Rheden is a new after-school care (BSO) that has been operating since December 2025 from the canteen of Sportclub Rheden. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 4 December 2025 shows that the location meets all quality requirements in the areas of administration, pedagogical climate, staff, safety, accommodation and parental rights. The pedagogical practice scores well: children experience emotional security, there is attention for individual needs and appropriate activities are offered. The staff hold the correct diplomas and there is a mentor for each child. One point of attention is that the pedagogical policy staff member will only be appointed in 2026; this will be checked at a next inspection. The yet-to-be-established parent committee will also be reviewed at that time. No violations were identified and no recovery offer was made.
