GGD Zuid-Limburg conducted an unannounced annual inspection at BSO Mergelland in Cadier en Keer on 2 September 2026. The after-school care (BSO), part of Stichting MIK & Spelenderwijs Kindontwikkeling, accommodates up to 33 children aged 4 to 13 years in two vertical base groups. The location is housed in a former primary school and is part of the Brede School (community school). The team consists of three permanent pedagogical professionals, two BBL students, and a trainee. All assessed areas – pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health – comply with legal requirements. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The pedagogical policy is discussed in team meetings and corresponds with practice. Safety and health protocols are current and followed, including valid pediatric first aid certification.
