About this care
BSO Anne Frank is a welcoming after-school care facility for children aged 4 to 12, located in the annex of Anne Frank primary school at De Sanstraat 15 in Groningen. We are part of Kids First and provide care after school hours, during school holidays and on teacher training days.
Our location has a maximum capacity of 19 places and is organised into two age-based groups: one for children aged 4 to 8 and one for children aged 7 to 12. Our qualified pedagogical staff collect the children directly from their classrooms after school and accompany them to the BSO room in the school annex.
Every afternoon begins with everyone sitting down together for a snack and a chat. Afterwards, children can choose from a wide range of activities: arts and crafts, cooking, drama, sports and games in the gym or on the playground. We value children’s voices; through a children’s council, the children help decide on the layout, activities and toys.

Summary
BSO Groningen Anne Frank provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 19 children aged 4–12. During the annual unannounced inspection on 24 September 2025, the location was found to comply with requirements on staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. There was one violation: the pedagogical work plan stated 20 children while 19 were registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). Following a recovery offer, the text was amended and the location now meets all requirements. The pedagogical practice appears positive: children receive calm, stimulating guidance, with attention to interaction and development, and staff respond adequately to situations. All staff members hold the correct diplomas, Certificates of Conduct (VOG), and are properly registered. There is no parent committee due to the small scale, but parents are involved via app and newsletter and may respond to consultation requests. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
