About this care
Welcome to De Kleine Maatjes, our after-school care (BSO) location at Grote Maatweg 4 in Wierden. We are part of KOSMO childcare and provide out-of-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a charming, former agricultural school on the edge of town. The spacious indoor area is divided into two open living spaces that match the world of experience of both younger and older primary school children. Our outdoor area is rich in greenery and equipped with age-appropriate outdoor play equipment, allowing children to romp, explore and unwind after school.
At De Kleine Maatjes we work according to the KOSMO vision: children receive loving guidance and personal attention. We offer before-school care from 7:00 am and after-school care until 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. After school, a varied activity programme is ready, with outdoor play and discovering nature at its heart. We regularly take walks and undertake green discovery trips in the area. Our pedagogical staff ensure that every child feels seen and heard and that the safety and social well-being of the children are central.

GGD Twente conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 10 March 2026 at after-school care (BSO) De Kleine Maatjes in Wierden, part of KOSMO West Twente B.V. The location provides care for a maximum of 33 children aged 4-13 years in three rooms on the upper floor of a former agricultural school. All assessed conditions are met. The pedagogical climate is positive: staff know the children personally, there is a relaxed atmosphere, and there is sufficient structure with room for individual choices. The nutrition policy has been tightened with more vegetables and fruit. Staff are correctly registered and qualified, the staff-to-child ratio is in order (3 present for 20 children, 2 required). Safety and health policies are up to date and complete. The accommodation meets requirements with 3.7 m² of indoor space per child and 410 m² of outdoor space. No violations or areas for improvement were identified.
