About this care
BSO ’t Stadstuintje is our after-school care location at Groenmarkt 83 in the heart of Dordrecht. We provide professional care and guidance to children aged 4 to 13 after school hours and during school holidays, on days when their parents or guardians are unable to do so themselves. Our location has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 July 2019 under number 357804946 and offers space for up to 35 children.
We work from four clear pedagogical objectives: providing emotional safety, promoting personal and social competencies, and transferring values and norms. These principles form the core of our pedagogical policy and are reflected in everything we do. After school, we pick up the children from the schools we collaborate with: Statenschool, School Vest, School Mühring and De Horizon. We then bring them to our location at Groenmarkt, where a varied range of activities awaits them.
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 18:30. During holidays and study days we are open from 07:00 to 18:30, allowing parents to remain flexible with their work and other commitments. Summary
BSO 't Stadstuintje at Groenmarkt 83 in Dordrecht provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 35 children aged 4-13. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 29 April 2025 concludes that the location meets all statutory quality requirements following remedial measures. Key strengths include the calm and positive pedagogical climate, sufficient and varied play materials, engaged staff who challenge children in their social, cognitive, and creative development, and up-to-date staff certification. There were six areas for improvement: the pedagogical policy lacked concrete descriptions of staff flexibility and cognitive stimulation, and the safety and health policy contained incomplete agreements on the policy cycle, handling minor risks, use of the heavy door, drowning, and transgressive behaviour. Staff also allowed older children to work in the kitchen unsupervised. The organisation accepted the recovery offer, submitted supplementary policy documents, and briefed staff; all shortcomings were remedied by 3 July 2025. The GGD advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
