About this care
BSO de Molenwerf is located in the heart of Heemstede and is part of Kindcentrum de Molenwerf. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 years. Children from Voorwegschool and Nicolaas Beetschool come to us daily for care after school hours.
Our location at Molenwerfslaan 9 accommodates up to 63 children. As a BSO, we specialize in guiding school-age children during their free time after school. We work closely with the primary schools in the immediate area to ensure a smooth transition from school to after-school care.
At Casca BSO de Molenwerf, we value good, open and honest communication with parents. We provide a safe and familiar environment where children can develop and relax after a day at school. Summary
GGD Kennemerland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 2 December 2025 at after-school care (BSO) Casca BSO Molenwerf in Heemstede. The theme was 'parents and children'. All assessed quality requirements were met: the pedagogical policy is clearly defined and implemented, staff are properly registered and hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), the domestic violence reporting protocol is known and actively taught, parents receive clear information through multiple channels, and there is an active parent committee. In 2024, a recovery offer was issued for the pedagogical policy; upon re-evaluation, it was found that the conditions had been met. In 2025, one complaint was received regarding the collection of early-years children and the door policy; agreements have been tightened and recorded. The website now clearly indicates that there are two separate after-school care (BSO) locations. There are no outstanding violations. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
