About this care
Kindercentrum Het Apenstaartje is an independent, privately-run childcare organisation with two locations in Muntendam. Our after-school care (BSO) is located at Mahatma Gandhiweg 1, 9649 BL Muntendam, inside the premises of primary school OBS De Verkruisen. We provide professional care for up to 33 children aged 4 years to the end of primary school. We have been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 8 October 2010 under number 145947087.
Our approach centres on warmth, attention, routine and social development. The rooms are decorated in a cosy, homely style so that children feel at ease from the moment they arrive. Our qualified pedagogical staff guide the children in small, manageable groups, allowing room for both individual initiative and quiet moments. After school, children can choose to play freely, do crafts, enjoy outdoor play in the playground or take part in activities that match their interests. During study days and school holidays we offer care from 07:00 to 18:30, giving parents the flexibility they need for work and family life.
We work closely with OBS De Verkruisen and other local schools, ensuring a smooth and familiar transition from school to after-school care. Summary
The annual inspection on 16 February 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Het Apenstaartje in Muntendam, part of Kinderopvang KaKa, revealed a mixed picture. The location meets the requirements for staff and groups, but received a recovery offer for its pedagogical climate. During the visit, the group was restless, with a lot of noise, children running around, and conflicts. The staff had too little control of the situation, partly because they were occupied with preparing fruit. The space and logistics contributed to the chaos. The location has drawn up an action plan with more structure, outdoor play, and active choices for children. Following evaluation on 14 April 2026, it was determined that the requirement is now met. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
