About this care
Welcome to BSO Veencampus, our after-school care centre located at Laakboulevard 410 in the heart of Vathorst, Amersfoort. We are a core partner of ABC Vathorst Midden and provide care for up to 54 children aged 4 to 12. Our location is specially designed for ‘tweens’: children who are becoming more independent yet still enjoy the security and stimulating activities of a professional after-school programme.
Indoors and outdoors we offer plenty of space to play, move and explore. The large outdoor area invites children to run, climb and engage in sports and games, while the indoor spaces are set up for quiet corners, crafts, building and socialising. We work closely with primary school ABC Vathorst Midden, ensuring a safe pick-up after school and an immediate, familiar place where children can relax and develop.
Our team of pedagogical staff is ready every day to guide children in their own interests and challenges. We provide a warm, safe environment that allows room for personal initiative as well as structured activities. Through our partnership with ABC Amersfoort we contribute to a close-knit neighbourhood where parents and children meet and support each other.

Summary
The annual inspection of 26 May 2026 of after-school care (BSO) Veencampus in Amersfoort, part of Bzzzonder Kindercentrum B.V., presents a mixed picture. The location with 54 childcare places for children aged 7 to 13 years is compliant on the domain of staff and groups, but on pedagogical climate only after a recovery offer. Two violations were identified: failure to act in accordance with policy on monitoring child development (observations were not systematically recorded) and shortcomings in pedagogical practice (limited active involvement of staff, insufficiently stimulating play materials, and interactions that did not align with the pedagogical policy). The location received a recovery offer on both points and is now compliant, among other things through an extensive improvement plan with concrete actions, additional coaching and completed wellbeing forms. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
